This plot of carignan, like so many others on our domaine, was grafted on site. While my father was in Algeria for his military service, my grandfather sent him some photos of the good growth of grafts.

60 years later, this stony and clay-limestone piece of at a place called "Buga" (meaning the presence of beehives in Occitan), still transmits to these grapes a sugar-acidity balance that I find perfect for the elaboration of a sulphites-free vintage.

Working as close to the nature as possible requires two attitudes: stringency and humility. This Carignan cuvée is surprising in its fruit and richness, pierced by a remarkable freshness.
